Abstract
A translator that faces videogame localisation for the first time soon realises that 'first thought equals best thought' are of little help. Issues like lack of space to 'accommodate' the translation, lack of context and of coherence in the translation units can become serious challenges that the translator must overcome. For this reason, we must always rey on the valuable help of creativity, which brings some freedom within the constraints of this type of translation.
