Abstract

We report the romance forms used in the escurialense bible I.I.8 to translate the latin agreed present participle. We relate the different structures to the function of the nouns these participles refer to. We show the keeping of some romance present participles with verbal value, the use of gerunds with a merely adjective function, and the use of time subordinate clauses instead of gerunds when a nominal clause depends on that participle.
