Abstract

This article aims to contribute to the understanding of the new extreme right currents in the Western world, which are seriously endangering democratic systems. The analysis uses the work Extrema derecha 2.0. Qué es y cómo combatirla, by historian Steven Forti, to problematize two major issues: on the one hand, the paradoxical and changing relationship of far-right formations with the media, and on the other, the way in which they have identified their enemies and they try to dispute their cultural hegemony. These issues are decisive for the educational field, because the school must play a decisive role in defending the values that support democracy.
