This article focuses on Botanical Gardens (BG) as interesting settings from a learning point of view, motivating teachers to use them as educational resources and learning contexts. It is divided into seven sections: (1) an introduction to the subject, emphasizing the idea of learning beyond the classroom; (2) a theoretical inquiry around the museological contexts of BG, what they are, a brief history and their purpose; (3) the importance of plants and how to promote their study; (4) how to locate the BG closest to a certain location; (5) topics to address in a BG; and (6) a teaching sequence to work before, during and after visiting a BG.
