Abstract

This study investigates the management of the living being model in trainee teachers after completing a teaching proposal from a modelling approach. The aim was to analyse the students' responses to five final activities aimed at self-regulation and evaluation of the knowledge learned. The first two activities tried to connect all the aspects that define a living being to obtain a model applicable to any organism. Meanwhile, the remaining three activities were aimed at consolidating this knowledge, establishing a complete model close to the school scientific model and its application to other situations, such as a robot or a virus. The study involved 58 third-year students of the Primary Education Degree and their development showed a favourable performance in all activities, which encourages us to continue with this line of research and extrapolate these approaches to other cases.
